Temple Carpet Cleaners Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Temple Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial carpet cleaning services in the UK. By making a booking, the customer agrees to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before confirming any service. For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, references to “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Temple Carpet Cleaners, and references to “you” and “your” mean the customer receiving or requesting the service. These terms are intended to be clear, fair, and consistent with applicable UK consumer law.
We reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will apply to future bookings unless a different arrangement has been expressly agreed in writing. The version in force at the time your booking is accepted will normally apply to that service. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full effect.
The services covered by these terms include carpet cleaning, stain treatment, deodorising, and related fibre care services agreed at the time of booking. Additional items such as rugs, upholstery, or hard flooring may be quoted separately if requested and accepted. We may decline to provide services where the condition of the carpet, the surrounding environment, or access arrangements make safe or effective cleaning impractical.
Booking Process
Bookings may be made through our standard booking channels and are subject to availability. A booking is only confirmed when we have accepted your request and, where applicable, you have paid any required deposit or agreed booking fee. A quote provided before inspection is an estimate only unless we have expressly stated that it is fixed. If, on arrival, the service requirements differ significantly from the information provided at the time of booking, we may revise the price or, where necessary, decline to proceed.
When making a booking with Temple Carpet Cleaners, you must provide accurate and complete information, including the type of carpet, the approximate area to be cleaned, access restrictions, parking limitations, presence of stains or odours, and any known risks such as water sensitivity, underfloor heating, or previous treatment. We rely on this information to plan the job safely and properly. If the information supplied is inaccurate or incomplete, any resulting delay, additional work, or extra cost may be chargeable.
We may also request photographs, measurements, or further details before confirming the appointment. This helps us determine the most suitable method, estimate the time required, and identify any special handling needs. Temple carpet cleaning appointments are scheduled in good faith, but time estimates are not guaranteed unless specifically agreed. We will make reasonable efforts to attend at the agreed time, although delays may occur because of traffic, weather, access issues, or other operational matters beyond our control.
Payments
Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due upon completion of the service on the day of attendance. We may accept payment in the forms notified at the time of booking. Where a deposit, advance payment, or card pre-authorisation is required, this will be made clear before the booking is confirmed. Any deposit is usually applied toward the final price and may be non-refundable where cancellation occurs outside the permitted period or where we have already incurred costs in preparing for the service.
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling and, unless stated otherwise, include the labour and materials described in the quotation. Additional charges may apply where extra rooms, heavy soiling, specialist stain treatment, furniture moving, difficult access, parking charges, or additional drying methods are required. If we discover additional work is necessary once the service begins, we will explain the likely change in cost before continuing, where reasonably practicable. You are responsible for prompt payment of all sums due under the booking.
If payment is not made on completion, we reserve the right to suspend further work, withhold any optional aftercare, and recover the amount owed through lawful means. You agree to pay any reasonable costs incurred in pursuing overdue amounts, including administrative costs and any lawful recovery fees. A carpet cleaning service is considered complete when the agreed work has been carried out, even if staining cannot be fully removed due to the nature of the fibre, the age of the stain, or previous damage.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule a booking by providing reasonable notice. If cancellation is made with sufficient notice, we may, at our discretion, waive any charge or refund any advance payment less non-recoverable expenses. If cancellation is made at short notice, or if we arrive and are unable to gain access, we may charge a cancellation fee to cover lost time, travel, and preparation costs. The amount of any such fee will be proportionate and reasonable.
If you wish to reschedule, we will try to offer a suitable alternative date, subject to availability. Repeated rescheduling may result in additional administrative charges or loss of any discount previously applied. If we need to cancel or reschedule due to circumstances beyond our control, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and arrange a new appointment or refund any prepayment for the affected service, as appropriate. We are not responsible for inconvenience caused by events outside our control, including severe weather, traffic disruption, illness, or equipment failure.
Where a booking is cancelled because the work cannot safely proceed due to conditions at the property, such as excessive clutter, unsafe flooring, infestation, electrical hazards, or a lack of suitable access to water or power, a call-out or cancellation fee may still apply. In such cases, the issue will normally be treated as a customer-side cancellation unless we have expressly agreed to wait or return later. For clarity, the Temple Carpet Cleaners cancellation policy is designed to be fair and to balance your rights with our operational costs.
Liability
We will carry out services with reasonable care and skill. However, carpet cleaning can involve risks inherent to fibre type, age, prior treatment, construction, backing materials, and hidden defects. Some carpets may react unpredictably to moisture, cleaning agents, agitation, or stain removal products. While we use reasonable professional methods, we do not guarantee the removal of every stain, odour, mark, or contamination, especially where the issue has set deeply or has previously been treated incorrectly by others.
You are responsible for informing us of any known issues before work begins, including shrinkage history, colour loss, delicate fibres, pre-existing wear, loose seams, weak carpet backing, or moisture-sensitive underlay. If you ask us to continue after we have warned that there is a risk of damage, you do so at your own risk to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law.
Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability for loss or damage arising from the service will be limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question, except where a higher limit is required by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or loss arising from delay, except where such loss results directly from our negligence and cannot be excluded by law. Carpet cleaning terms of this kind are intended to reflect reasonable industry practice and legal limits.
Waste Regulations
We will handle waste arising from the service in accordance with applicable UK environmental and waste legislation. Any waste generated by our work, including used cloths, packaging, or removed debris, will be stored, transported, and disposed of responsibly. Where waste is classified as controlled, contaminated, or otherwise subject to special handling, we will manage it in a lawful and appropriate manner. We may refuse to remove certain materials if doing so would breach safety rules, waste controls, or local restrictions.
You are responsible for declaring any hazardous materials, bodily fluids, infestations, chemical residues, sharps, or other substances that may affect the cleaning process or create a disposal issue. If such materials are discovered during the service and were not disclosed beforehand, we may stop work, apply an additional charge, or require specialist disposal. We will not knowingly dispose of items in a way that breaches waste rules or environmental obligations. The customer must ensure that the premises are suitable for lawful and safe waste handling where relevant.
Any packaging, disposable pads, or other materials left behind after the service may contain cleaning residues or soil from the work carried out. You should keep children and pets away from such items until they have been removed or have dried appropriately. If you request the removal of items beyond the scope of the agreed service, this will only be done if it is permitted by law and specifically agreed. We aim to operate in a manner consistent with responsible Temple carpet cleaners practices and environmental care.
Customer Responsibilities
You must ensure that the area to be cleaned is reasonably clear and that we can safely access the rooms, surfaces, power sources, and water supply required for the service. Fragile items, ornaments, electronics, documents, and other valuable belongings should be removed or protected before we begin. If furniture needs to be moved, this should be discussed in advance. We may decline to move heavy, unstable, or valuable items, and we are not responsible for items that are not disclosed or are left in unsafe positions.
You must also disclose any health or safety concerns affecting the premises, including pets, occupancy limitations, alarms, security systems, or known hazards. If cleaning products or methods must be avoided due to medical or sensitivity reasons, you must tell us before the appointment. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests where possible, but we cannot guarantee the outcome if the cleaning requirements are inconsistent with the condition of the carpet or the service requested. Cooperation from the customer helps us provide a safe and efficient carpet cleaning service.
Where drying times are affected by weather, ventilation, humidity, carpet thickness, or prior saturation, you are responsible for keeping the area free from foot traffic until it is safe to use. We may give an estimated drying time, but this is not a guarantee. You should follow any reasonable aftercare instructions provided at the end of the appointment. Failure to do so may reduce the effectiveness of the service and may affect any claim you wish to make later.
Complaints and Service Issues
If you believe there is a problem with the service, you should notify us within a reasonable time so that we can investigate. This may include asking for photographs, a description of the issue, and an opportunity to inspect the affected area. We may offer a return visit, an adjustment, or another suitable remedy where we consider the complaint to be valid and where this is lawful and proportionate. Claims made long after the service may be difficult to assess and may not be accepted if the condition of the carpet has changed.
Any complaint should relate to the service actually provided and not to pre-existing defects, wear, ageing, or contamination already present before we attended. The existence of remaining shadowing, colour variation, or recurrent staining does not necessarily indicate poor workmanship. Carpet fibres can retain evidence of prior damage even after professional cleaning. We will not be liable for matters that were clearly visible or disclosed before work commenced, or for issues caused by third parties after completion.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer legislation. The rights and remedies available to you may vary depending on whether you are a consumer or a business customer. Where the law gives you mandatory rights, those rights remain unaffected by these Terms and Conditions. Our aim is to resolve issues fairly and in line with lawful practice.
General Provisions
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute arising from or connected with them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory law provides otherwise. If any term is found invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that term will be treated as removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remainder of the terms will continue to apply.
We may assign or subcontract parts of the service where appropriate, provided that the standard of work remains consistent with the service agreed. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under a booking without our written consent. No waiver of any breach by us shall be treated as a waiver of any later breach. These Terms and Conditions, together with any written quotation or booking confirmation, form the entire agreement between us in relation to the service booked.
By booking with Temple Carpet Cleaners, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. They are intended to create a balanced contractual framework for professional Temple carpet cleaning services, setting out how bookings are made, how payment operates, when cancellations apply, how liability is limited, how waste is managed, and which law governs the arrangement.
